Background Statement

After graduating from "Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Bordeaux" and "Institut de Management Hôtelier international" (IMHI, an ESSEC MBA in Hospitality Management), I have worked in management at Montcalm Hotel in London (Nikko Hotels) and at Meurice Hotel and Bristol Hotel in Paris (two luxury hotels, both members of Leading Hotels of the world).

Later, I settled down in Dordogne-Périgord to develop my own business, a charming B&B and a high scale home rental business. I ran my business for nine years and, subsequently, I entered the educational sector as Director of the MBA in Hospitality Management at Ecole Supérieure Internationale de Savignac.

After one year in function, I became Assistant to the Managing Director and had the opportunity, with my colleague Roger Haigh, to develop the school which has increased from 80 to 300 students in the past five years.

Following Jean Jacques Ratier's retirement in 2009, Roger Haigh and I took over as Managing Directors and worked hard to promote our institution at the international and set critical partnerships with English and Spanish Hospitality Management schools and universities.

My key areas of expertise are web mastering, marketing and communication. I am also in charge of corporate relationships. My mother tongue is Spanish and I am also fluent in both French and English which I feel is a real value for a future Vice President of an international association.

Platform Statement

Since 2006, I have attended all EuroCHRIE conferences. As French Area Consultant for EuroCHRIE, I have been developing a corporate and institutional network in France to promote our association. This new responsibility gave me the opportunity to become a new member of the CHRIE family and to meet very dedicated and interesting people. I especially appreciated the warmth and friendliness of the board members.

I believe that my professional experience both in hospitality business and in the educational sector position me as a strong candidate to bring into EuroCHRIE my dedication and open-mindedness.

Background Statement

After graduating from the Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, I joined the exciting hotel business, working in management for Four Seasons in London and Hyatt in Hong Kong. Subsequently, I entered the educational sector in the management of ANGELL Akademie Freiburg in Germany, simultaneously obtaining a Masters Degree in Events Management at Leeds Metropolitan University.

As Managing Director of ANGELL Akademie Freiburg & Co-founder of ANGELL Business School Freiburg and the International University of Cooperative Education Freiburg, I have been involved extensively in the business strategies and development of our educational institutions on a national and international basis. Furthermore, one of my key areas of expertise is developing and promoting our product portfolio of academic programmes in Tourism, Hotel and Event Management to international educational partners.

Platform Statement

I have been a proud member of ICHRIE and EUROChrie for many years, assisting the council in a variety of matters, such as co-organisor of the EuroCHRIE Conference in 2003 in Bad Honnef. Since 2003, I have attended almost all EuroChrie and ICHRIE conferences. As the current Director of Marketing and Communications for EuroCHRIE, I have been developing an integrative marketing communications plan to increase ICHRIE Membership in Europe. We have developed a new web presence, including entries and fanpages in social media and created a new brochure to promote our federation.

I have dedicated a lot of time and personal effort to our federation over the years. I believe that my theoretical and practical knowledge place me a strong position to make a positive contribution to our organisation as Vice President. It has been a true pleasure seeing the "CHRIE-family" at the annual conferences and meeting old and new friends, exchanging ideas, thoughts and visions. Hence, I would welcome the opportunity to support EuroCHRIE as Vice President.
