A Message from the President

Dear EuroCHRIE Family,

As your new Federation President, I am pleased to announce that EuroCHRIE is in good shape and rocking well. This year´s annual I-CHRIE conference took place in Puerto Rico from 27-31 July 2010. It was a tremendous possibility for interaction and information with the Caribbean flavor. More than 400 delegates attended this year’s event. Around 30 of the delegates represented European countries. In here, I will take the opportunity to thank everybody who was involved in organizing such a great conference.

The EuroCHRIE federation took center stage with Susan Fournier being installed as Vice President of the I-CHRIE board and Rai Shacklock being awarded the prestigious Howard B. Meek Award : the highest recognition a member of International CHRIE may receive. It is presented annually to a member in recognition of the individual's lifetime contributions and outstanding services to hospitality education. What outstanding achievements - Congratulations to Susan and Rai.

This year´s EuroCHRIE Conference will take place in Amsterdam. It will be hosted by Stenden International Hospitality Management and Saxion Hospitality Business School. The central theme will be ´Passion for Hospitality Excellence´. The event will take place on 25-27 October 2010 at the Mövenpick Hotel, an excellent venue near the main train station and close to downtown and to be honest, Amsterdam is a unique destination with unlimited options to enjoy yourself.
